📢 Merkel Elementary Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to welcome our Badgers back to school! Please review our arrival and dismissal procedures to help ensure a safe and smooth start to the school year.
Morning Arrival
- Parents are welcome to walk their child to class this week only.
- The school building opens at 7:20 a.m.
- Morning announcements begin at 7:45 a.m.
- Students arriving after 7:50 a.m. will be marked tardy.
Dismissal Procedures
Pre-K & Head Start- Students will be released at 3:35 p.m.
- Pick-up will take place at the back of the elementary school at the Competition Gym doors.
- Students will be released at 3:45 p.m.
- All car riders will wait in the front foyer until their vehicle reaches the pick-up area.
Car Rider Pick-Up
- Please have your car tag clearly visible each afternoon.
- If you have not yet received a car tag, please be prepared to show a valid driver's license before your child is released.
Walkers & Bike Riders
- Walkers and bike riders will be dismissed at 3:55 p.m.
- Students will exit from either the front or the back of the school, depending on their designated route.
- Please note that walkers and bike riders are no longer supervised once they are dismissed from campus.
Parent Pick-Up
- We will no longer offer parent walk-up pick-up in the afternoon.
- All parents and guardians picking up students must use the car rider drive-through line.
Dismissal Changes
If your child's dismissal plans change, please notify both the front office and your child's teacher no later than 3:00 p.m. This helps us ensure every student gets home safely and efficiently.Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we begin a wonderful school year. We appreciate your partnership in helping us provide a safe, efficient, and positive experience for every student.
